One of my favorite Fresh Prince of Bel Air episodes is “Papa’s Got a Brand New Excuse”. Will Smith’s poignant acting addresses a major issue in the black community and moves millions with it’s message.
The episode revolves around his father Lou, who returns after 14 years of Will’s life to spend time with his son. Uncle Phil knows his father is lying but Will is so happy to be with his dad that he can’t see through the facade. Then this happens…
Heart breaking right? But here’s problem that arose…
A rumor started going around the Internet that Will Smith actually had a deadbeat dad that was never around.
This is the excerpt from Tumblr…
“That awful moment when you learn that this wasn’t scripted. That Will Smith’s character was actually supposed to brush off the whole thing, but Will’s father actually had left him when he was younger and he just fell apart on the set and the hug at the end was from one actor to another, not one character to another.”

Well that’s a bunch of bullshit…
The truth is that his father had a major influence in his life.
Will Smith told Essence Magazine what his father was REALLY like. “Dad was tough but not tyrannical. He kept me in line. He’d get this look that said, ‘One more step, Will, and it’ll get ugly.’ He was an independent businessman. He set up refrigeration in supermarkets, and he ALWAYS provided for us. He’s a steady and positive figure in my life.”

So people really need to learn how to get their facts straight before they repeat what they hear. As of now, this 1 misinformative blog post has over 250,000 notes which will result in millions of ripples of lies. The truth is Will Smith is one of the greatest actors of all times that has overcome tremendous adversities and has shined in any role he’s played.
